Spotlight by Raquel in Fiery Copper RL31/29

Spotlight by Raquel in Fiery Copper RL31/29 has a monofilament top, lace front Memory Cap II with Tru2Life heat-resistant synthetic hair (up to 180 degrees).  She is about the same length as Show Stopper, however, this wig has been cut because the back of the wig was horribly frayed and crackly like straw, which I’m sure is a lack of inspection of returns on the part of Best Wig Outlet.   Other than that major flaw this wig is a typical Raquel wig–a little dry/coarse but has good movement and the color is beautiful.

Camera Ready by Raquel in RS29 and RL32/31

Camera Ready by Raquel is a beautiful wig and does not look like the model pictures which is a good thing!  She is similar to Gisele by Jon Renau but she has more curls, and her hair fiber is soft and silky like Gisele!!!  That’s a plus for us!  The cap has a mono part and lace front, although I don’t know why they use two words to differentiate the part and front when it is clearly one piece of material with no seam.  No wonder it’s confusing…the wig companies can’t even decide which terms to use!  If you look at the list prices Camera Ready is about $70 cheaper than Gisele.  Diana and I have decided that we like the mono part/lace front better than the mono top/lace front for a few reasons:  the price can be up to $100 cheaper; there’s no visible seam between the mono part and lace front; and we really don’t need to change the part around.  The colors are beautiful too.  RS29+ is an even blend of highlights which are dark gold blonde, strawberry, light blonde and light golden brown; I believe the plus means that there are several colors in it.  RS32/31 is dark auburn with bright auburn highlights–it’s exactly the same as ROP’s Chestnut.  We have nothing bad to say about this wig and would recommend it in a heartbeat!  Camera Ready and Gisele are fighting over the prestigious up front and center position in Diana’s collection, and since it’s two against one…I think Gisele may be losing her spot!

Show Stopper by Raquel in Honey Ginger 14/25

Show Stopper by Raquel in Honey Ginger 14/25 is a heat friendly synthetic wig with a mono top and lace front. She is a long and straight style with razored ends.  Her hair fiber is exactly the same as Scene Stealer’s but Show Stopper has less hair, is shorter and weighs less than Scene Stealer.  Her hair fiber is stiff though, she does not have good movement and she needs to be combed every 2 hours or so when she’s out and about.  We find that the heat friendly fiber just isn’t very silky smooth, especially after you use heat on it, and Raquel’s wigs are known to be a bit dry or coarse, but there are people who have that type of hair naturally and feel more comfortable in what they’re used to.  Show Stopper is a beautiful wig and Honey Ginger is a great color!

Raquel Welch Wig Colors

Raquel Welch Colors:  #1. Camera Ready in RS29+; #2. Limelight in RL12/22SS; #3. Show Stopper in Honey Ginger RL14/25; #4. Spotlight in Fiery Copper RL31/29; #5. Camera Ready in RL32/31.

Wig #1. RS29+ is a beautiful strawberry with blonde highlights, although I believe the plus means that there are several different highlight colors in it.

Wig #2. Limelight in RL12/22SS looks pretty good here, but Diana says it really looks more like it does in the Shades of Blonde 3 pic.  Color #22 is an ashy/silvery color.

Wig #3. Honey Ginger looks butterscotch here; in shades of blonde 2  and 4 it looks blonde/strawberry, however it probably looks like this in brighter light.

Wig #4. Fiery Copper is a lighter auburn-31 with strawberry-29 highlights.

Wig #5. RL32/31 is a medium auburn-32 with lighter auburn-31 highlights.  This is exactly the same color as Noriko/Amore’s Chestnut.

Scene Stealer by Raquel Welch in RL14/25

Scene Stealer by Raquel in RL14/25 has a monofilament top and a lace front; the hair fiber is heat-resistant up to 275°.  The monofilament and lace are fused together and the line may be visible depending on how you wear the bangs; they also have a checker pattern which, depending on the colors, may be visible at the part.  She is a longer style with a lot of hair which is a bit coarse (because of the heat-resistant fiber) but it moves well and is not stiff. Scene Stealer is a beautiful wig and I love the Honey Ginger color!

See my article on wig caps where  I discuss permatease, monofilament and lace fronts in more detail.

Tigress by Raquel Welch in R14/25

Tigress is long and curly, and has an open wefted capless memory cap.  This is a discontinued wig.  The open wefted cap is a disaster, the hair on top comes out going forward so when you try to comb the crown and bangs back the wefts open up.  For the amount of hair that’s on this wig, the top is very sparse.  The color is beautiful though.
